2. This website (alamouhealthgroup.com)
This website has no user accounts, no forms, no advertising, and no audience measurement.
- If you contact us by email or phone, we use your name, contact details, and message only to reply to you and to follow up on any work we discuss. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) records standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to keep the site secure and running.
- Cookies. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Only technical cookies needed for the site to work may be set.
3. Alliance Santé Afrique (website and mobile app)
Alliance Santé Afrique connects patients in Benin with independent, verified health professionals. It is available at alliancesanteafrique.net and through the Alliance Santé Afrique mobile app for Android and iOS.
Data we collect
- Patient account (website and app): first name, last name, email address, phone number, and password (never stored in plain text). If you choose to add them, the name of your health insurance or mutual health plan and your member number. These appear only on your receipts so you can request reimbursement; we do not send them to your insurer.
- Appointments: the professional, service, location, date, and time you choose, the appointment status, and an optional message.
- Payments: amount, date, status, and transaction reference. Payment details (Mobile Money, card) are entered directly with our payment provider; we never receive your PIN or card number.
- Reviews after a consultation: ratings of your experience (punctuality, welcome, explanations, respect) and an optional comment.
- Notifications: your notification preferences and, if you turn on notifications on your phone, a technical device identifier used to send them.
- Health professionals: identity, professional contact details, profession, specialty, registration with their professional order, practice locations and hours, fees, insurance plans accepted, biography, photo, supporting documents (ID, diplomas, authorizations), and a Mobile Money or bank account to receive payouts.
- Other services on the website (medical equipment, research): the information you enter in the related forms (contact details, organization, request).
- Job applications: name, email address, phone number, cover message, and CV (PDF).
Why we use it
- To create and manage your account and secure access (email verification, abuse prevention).
- To organize your appointments: sending your request to the professional you chose, confirmations, reminders, and cancellations.
- To collect payments, handle refunds, and pay professionals their share.
- To send notifications about your appointments and account; news and updates only if you have agreed to receive them.
- To maintain the quality of the network: verifying professionals, averaging reviews, and following up on reports.
- To meet our legal obligations (accounting, responses to authorities).
Who has access
- The professional you choose sees your name, the service, location, date, and status of the appointment. They do not see your email address or phone number.
- Reviews: only a professional’s average rating is published, once a minimum number of reviews is reached. Your name and comment are never published.
- A verified professional’s public profile shows only professional information (name, profession, specialty, locations, languages, biography, photo, fees, availability). Date of birth, nationality, supporting documents, and payout accounts are never published.
- The hiring organization receives your application and CV by email when you apply to one of its job offers. It uses them under its own responsibility, only for that recruitment.
- Our team (front desk, verification, finance, administration), each only for what concerns their role. Supporting documents are stored outside the public website, and every access is logged.
- Our service providers, only for the service they provide: website and email hosting (Hostinger / Titan), payments and payouts (FedaPay), protection of forms against bots (Cloudflare Turnstile), website fonts (Google Fonts), and, when turned on, phone notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push Notification service).
Your data is never sold or rented. The Alliance Santé Afrique website, its database, and the host’s backups are kept in the European Union (server in France, backups in Lithuania). Some providers, as well as Alamou Health Group, may process data outside Benin, including in the United States. We only use providers that offer security and confidentiality safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Patient account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Appointments: deleted automatically 180 days after the appointment date.
- Job applications: our copy (with the CV) is deleted automatically 180 days after it is sent.
- Notifications: deleted after 180 days.
- Reviews: the rating is kept anonymously in the professional’s average; the comment is erased when the account is deleted.
- Accounting records of payments and payouts: 10 years (legal obligation), then deleted.
- Professionals’ supporting documents: kept while they are members of the network; deleted 90 days after a refusal or the end of membership.
- Requests from facilities and organizations (equipment quotes, research collaborations): deleted 3 years after the last exchange, or 5 years after if they led to an agreement. Job offers: the address that receives applications is erased 3 years after the offer ends.
- Backups: each backup is erased after at most 6 months, so deleted data also disappears from backups within that time.
Security
All exchanges between the app, the website, and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored in encrypted form, professionals’ payout accounts are encrypted, and the app session is stored in the phone’s secure storage.
Minors
Accounts are for adults only. A parent or guardian can book an appointment for a child from their own account.
Cookies
The Alliance Santé Afrique website uses no advertising or audience measurement cookies. Only technical cookies are used (sign-in, chosen language, security).
Your rights
Under the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin, you have the right to access, correct, object to, and delete your data. You can update your contact details and notification preferences in your patient space or in the app, and request an export of your data from your patient space. To delete your account, follow these instructions. You can also write to privacy@alliancesanteafrique.net or contact Benin’s data protection authority (Autorité de Protection des Données Personnelles, APDP).
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make an important change, we will let you know on the website or in the app.
